Landmark Productions is one of Ireland’s leading theatre producers. It was established by Anne Clarke, former Deputy Director of the Gate Theatre in Dublin, in 2003 to produce wide-ranging and ambitious work in Ireland and to tour Irish work abroad.
Since then, the company has managed four international tours on three continents, and produced sixteen plays, including six Irish premieres and five world premieres in Dublin.
They include the Irish premieres of David Hare’s Skylight, Edward Albee’s The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?, Glen Berger’s Underneath the Lintel, David Harrower’s Knives in Hens and his Olivier Award-winning play Blackbird.
World premieres include Fiona Looney’s Dandelions and October, Paul Howard’s The Last Days of the Celtic Tiger and Between Foxrock and a Hard Place.
In 2011, the company co-produced two world premieres : Colm Tóibín’s Testament, directed by Garry Hynes, with the Dublin Theatre Festival; and a new version of Enda Walsh’s Misterman, starring Cillian Murphy, with Galway Arts Festival.
Future plans include the world premiere of Greener by Fiona Looney, together with a new play, in collaboration with HATCH Theatre Company and Dublin Theatre Festival, about the iconic Irish-American New Yorker writer Maeve Brennan, to be written by Emma Donoghue, author of the best-selling novel Room.
